My first error message was due to 'case sensitivity' for the include file 'Classes/..' and not 'classes/...' in index.php on my linux shared host (PHP 5.2.9) . Then I get the following error message every time I try to map databases (MySQL 5.0.18) on the page after selecting the database (/phpviz/index.php?wizard=FieldMap&func=index&dbID=):

Fatal error: Call to a member function getTables() on a non-object in /home/user1/public_html/phpviz/Classes/Wizards/FieldMap.php on line 60

Any ideas on what I can try?

Carlos , thanks alot for sharing that. I am going to setup SVN or something so that you can commit any changes you make in there and everyone will benefit from that. I believe the student group who left the comment above is linked to you as well? I too have some features in mind , its just that been too bz lately.

Dear Sabeen:

I've modified the file /Classes/DB/MySQL.php so it can work properly with MySQL 5.0 and above, and I would like to post it to you, if you want.

The modification was simple, MySQL 5.0 tends to use NULL as a the value for a field that was not specified inside a INSERT or UPDATE field, since some fields are defined as "NOT NULL" the query fails, in order to avoid it I've placed this directives before executing any kind of INSERT/UPDATE query, inside functions query, testQuery, insert and update respectively:

mysql_query( "SET SQL_MODE=''" , $this->myDbCon );
mysql_query( "SET SQL_AUTO_IS_NULL=0" , $this->myDbCon );

However this modifications would make the script fail on a 3.x or 4.x MySQL server so there must be placed a "Version Detection" before attempting to execute this queries, the best way to do so is using:

mysql_query( "SELECT VERSION()" , $this->myDbCon );

I really found your framework very useful and I'm planning to introduce it to some students here. If you don't mind I'll try to extend it a little, to enable more complex site design and also support for CSS styling.

I would really like to help in this.

Best Regards
